FAQ

How much should I charge?

We cannot tell you how much you should be charging for your services. However, here are some factors that you should consider when deciding how much to charge:
  • Are you charging a flat rate or per hour?
  • What costs do you incur while delivering your services?
  • Do you need to travel?
  • How long does each job take you to complete?
  • Do you need to work inconvenient hours?
  • How much experience do you have?
  • If you had to pay someone to do what you do, how much would you be willing to pay?
Can I list my price as 'negotiable'?

Yes.

My business offers many different services, can I list them all?

Absolutely. It is rare that any business will offer just one service. At Cover Your Artz, we understand that you might be a jack-of-all-trades, or even run a “one stop shop”. If you do, fantastic! You will notice that you can list an infinite amount of sub-categories on your profile, and there is even a space for you to write a bio for your business. So there are many opportunities for you to advertise and promote everything that your business offers to thousands of potential clients.

How specific do I need to be?

It is important to remember that potential clients will be searching for your business, and you need to give them the best possible chance of finding you. For example, if you are a live photographer, you should list yourself under the photography category, and then specify “live photographer” on your profile.

My business category isn't listed.

If your specific business category isn't listed on the Cover Your Artz website, try to think more broadly about what it is you do. For example, does your service relate to a live concert/music environment? A publicity-type role? Could it be considered merchandising? You will find that you can specify your exact services on your profile. Our business/category list is purely a broad list that will help with searching, rather than an exhaustive list covering every niche within the industry. However, if you feel that there is a major category that we are missing, send us an email and we will consider adding it!

I'm in a band, can I use your service?

Certainly. As a band, you can make use of our search feature to find any service that you need, whether it is a roadie, someone to make a press kit, a sound engineer in Wagga Wagga, or someone who can put on a light show. When registering with Cover Your Artz, you should register in the 'Find a service' section, and simply put your band name in the “business name” category.

How do I know if the business I have found is crap?

After using a business/service that you have found through Cover Your Artz you have the opportunity to rate the service and provide feedback, and they will do the same with you. So if there is anyone registered with Cover Your Artz that doesn't know their asshole from their elbow, they will very quickly be found out.

I can't find what I'm looking for.

If you can't find exactly the type of business and/or service that you're looking for, perhaps it has been listed as a different search term. Try using the search feature without specifying any details, instead searching for all listings (for example) under 'Tour support staff' or 'marketing and branding' in your particular state.

Will Cover Your Artz actively promote my business and find me work?

No. Cover Your Artz is an industry-specific resource, where you can list your business, and people looking for a particular service can search our business listings. Cover Your Artz does not, nor will it, actively promote your business to potential clients. Cover Your Artz does not guarantee you will find work. We do, however, promise that your contact details will be available to people looking to find a particular service within the arts/entertainment industry.
